“Mulheres na Cor” (Women in Color)

Our “Mulheres na Cor” (Women in Color) initiatives give women in Brazil the chance to transform their lives by breaking into traditionally male-dominated professions.

Trainees are able to earn their own income as professional decorators or vehicle refinishers as a result of our inclusive vocational training programs. Achieving financial independence transforms the lives of the women, their families and the communities in which they live.

We believe in the power of People. Planet. Paint. Our painting sector needs access to the right people with the right skills in the right place at the right time. By ensuring that we recruit from the widest possible pool of talent, we can create the diverse global workforce we need to ease our current skills shortages.

Why women?

We share the United Nations’ (UN) Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 5) of achieving gender equality. We recognize that empowering women and girls has a multiplier effect that generates social and economic growth that ultimately benefits everyone in society.

Many women in Brazil face barriers to entering the job market. They find themselves heading up households with dependents of school age without sufficient – and in some cases, no – income. According to the Institute of Applied Economic Research, the percentage of Brazilian families being financially supported solely by women jumped from 25% in 1995 to 45% in 2018. By initiating and supporting programs such as Women in Color, we can help women transform their lives and reach their potential in the workplace.
